White Domain

The Ireton Family Tree has been regenerated from the database and now displays Cameron Ireton's current information.

Because of a privacy complaint one twig has been removed from the tree. The complainant, who claimed to speak on behalf of his mother and siblings, did not want any family member more current than his grandparents displayed. This means that the information about the complainant, his parents and his siblings has disappeared from the on-line Family Tree. Once I mark someone Private, the information on that individual and anyone descended from that individual is suppressed when the web pages are generated from the GRAMPS database. I have the option of generating only the individual's full name or just the surname but other family member's have indicated that they want their birthdate to show in the output. So if you want to be marked Private, you and anyone below you in the tree are gone.

Now I have managed to track down one of the complainant's siblings on Facebook (so much for privacy) and when I find the time I will likely connect with this person to determine if they have any fear of identity theft resulting from information contained in an on-line family tree. Until then, the twig will remain suppressed.
