Is TNG In Our Future?
I seriously been considering licensing a copy of TNG (The Next Generation) Genealogy Site Building software for White Domain. It would alleviate the major problem I now have of generating a multitude of HTML files in numerous sub-directories and then uploading them to the server after deleting the directories that are already there.
TNG can be installed as a module of Drupal, the Content Management System used to build White Domain. The data is stored in a mySQL database and the system is controlled via PHP scripts. Because of this the data is imported into the database once using GEDCOM files and then is maintained online.
Once I read a bit more about TNG I'll make my decision. The licence is inexpensive and if the software is as good as it looks I think I'll likely implement the changeover.
This is just a heads-up as things will look considerable different on the Genealogy pages if and when the change is made.
